LA PIU 'BELLA SANTA ROSALIA DI SICILIA

Bivona, in the province of Agrigento, 503 m above sea level, in the heart of the mountains Sicilian, is the place with the oldest religion in Sicily Palermo linked to Santa: in fact it began 600 years ago.

Here is the most beautiful Santa Rosalia in Sicily , created in 1601 by sculptor Roger bivonese Valenti. The precious golden wooden sculpture, fine example of the culture of the late Mannerist style, is preserved in the church of S. Rosalia where there is also a rich wooden fercolo and "holy oak" where Santa stood in his hermitage after his long stay at Quisquina.
